What it gives you
Technique over strength
Kids learn to escape and control a situation calmly.
Confidence
Every technique they master is a concrete little win.
Discipline
Bowing in, listening, waiting their turn: structure is part of class.
Friends & fun
Partner work builds friendships from the first classes.
Your first class
Fill in the trial request with your child's age. The team confirms the right class.
Arrive a little early so your child can meet the coach before stepping on the mat.
Playful warm-up, then simple techniques practised with a partner.
Ask the team whether a gi is needed for the trial or what to wear.

Practical questions
What age can they start?
The ages for each group are confirmed by the team. Include your child's age in the trial request and we'll tell you which class fits.
Is experience needed?
Not for most classes, which are listed "All levels". The Monday kids BJJ class is listed "Intermediate / Advanced".
How do coaches support a nervous child?
Classes are led by Pascal Steele Morin, kids BJJ instructor. Let us know in your request if your child is shy: the team will take it into account for the first class.
Is there sparring?
BJJ is practised with a partner on the ground, with no strikes. For when and how kids do free rounds, we'd rather not guess: mention it in your trial request and the team will confirm.
Can I stay during class?
On Saturdays, a parent & child BJJ class lets you train together. For watching other classes, ask the team.
How much is it after the trial?
Prices are confirmed by the team. Mention it in your trial request.
